Late post but I still decided to put it here. Last April 9 to 10, I went back to my old hometown, North Caloocan to celebrate two separate occasions: return of a friend from abroad and the birthday of my little kin. I never really intended to stay there overnight but because we’re having so much fun that time and because I’m about 43,873,394 footpaths away from home, I just decided to stay there for more than 24 hours even without brushing my teeth and changing my Made in China brief.
Kevin Aznar: Live in Manila!
Kevin, a high school classmate and a cool homey has been working in the Middle East for about 2 or 3 years already and it’s his first time to come back home. So to celebrate his homecoming, he invited us over for a little reunion at Cariño Resort, just like the good, old times. The invitation was sent through our high school batch’s Facebook group and the moment I saw it, wala nang patumpik-tumpik pa, I decided to join right away. It was fun even if we were just 8 there, me, Aissah, Robert, Francis, Jake, Darryl, Raymund and of course, Kevin the tourist guy. Evidently, we swam, we ate some staple outing foods like inihaw na baboy and the like, we drank a bit of alcoholic beverages (sa wakas, natikman ko rin yung Tanduay Ice), we even played basketball in the pool. But the kwentuhan about our days in high school and much more, of course, is the best part of it.
Fuckin’ Bacardi (pronounced as Paken Bakarday)
After the swimming, we went straight to Kevin’s house at Dolmar Golden Hills. It was my first time to visit Dolmar since we moved to Laguna so I’m extra excited about it. We went there for additional intake of alcohol but this time around, the original Norkal Homeboys are around, Roden, Jhon Ray and Jigs. The other guys from the swimming went home already except for Aissah and Francis who were there to accompany Kevin home but eventually went home too. But kasama pa namin sila kumain ng isaw na libre ni Kevs. After that, Kevin brought out his apple-flavored bottle of Bacardi. From what I’m hearing, Bacardi is an anak-mayaman drink and the only thing I know about that drink is that, it’s a part of the lyrics of a Rolando Navarette hip-hop song. After that, Red Horse naman. Fortunately, I never showed my signature lasing skills. But still, I decided not to go home since I’m already tipsy. We just decided to stay at the Jhon Ray Pereyra residence overnight.
The Bloody Ma Ling Tin Can: Happy Birthday, Roden
Before we actually went to Jhon Ray’s bahay to sleep, we waited for him first to finish his Senakulo practice (by the way, the Senakulo will be shown at all leading cinema house on Good Friday and Jhon Ray will play the role of Jesus Christ). That’s around 10 to 12PM already. As a result, we got hungry because Bacardi and Red Horse are not a good source of vitamins and calcium. It’s not a food supplement to say the least. Thank Jesus (the Real One, not Jhon Ray), there’s a fishball cart and Roden treated us because it’s his birthday. Aside from those dirty fishballs, he also treated us to hot and spicy burgers from Burger Machine and also bought monay, softdrinks and Ma Lings before we actually went to Jhon Ray’s kwarto. There, we had the usual kwentuhan, the usual walang bastos na kwentuhan and we came up with the Bloody Ma Ling Tin Can story which I will not emphasize further because it’s too spiritual to tell. There came the new acronyms, GP and GC to join other pious acronyms from the Norkal Homeboys such as SSKK and YSF.
Happy Birthday, Miguel!
The original plan is this, supposedly, after the swimming, I’ll go home and after that, I will go back again to Novaliches by Sunday and go to my nephew’s Miguel birthday party at Remedios Resort. But because bandang Novaliches na rin naman, staying at Jhon Ray’s house to stay overnight is not a stupid decision after all. What I worried about is the lack of brief but luckily I survived and the people at the resort didn’t notice my overnight grime in the pool. The party was awesome. May chocolate fountain, spaghetti and other delicious party foods. After that, after more than 24 hours, I went home. Okay na okay pa kasi naka-van ang aming pamilya. Umarkila.
Thank you, Kevin Aznar, Francis Colendrino and Yey Tenchavez for the additional photos.
When I was at Accenture, I only stayed there for 4 months. When I got a contractual stint with Sterling Bank of Asia through SL Temps Agency, the contract lasted for only 5 months. Now, for my third and current job, at SB Cards (Security Bank Cards for para-makilala-niyo-naman purposes), I finally crossed the “one year” mark. This is a great accomplishment for me. Sa wakas nakatagal din. I don’t know how I will end my stay here but certainly, unquestionably, of course, surely and any other Microsoft Word 2003 synonyms for those words, I am not thinking about it. I can truly say that I’m enjoying my stretch here even if I do not have the most pang-guwapo job in the world. I’m really happy and satisfied working with my bosses and officemates. I’m not just sure though, if they feel the same way since I’m a regular pangit na, pangit pa ugali guy.
Anyhow, thank you, Lord for this piece of good fortune. I am truly blessed beyond belief.
I don’t drink beer or any other alcoholic beverages and if ever I do so and got drunk, that will just result to disastrous, pang-“most embarrassing moments” moments.
Last night, I got home first and the problem is that I don’t have any keys to open our gate or any other doors. Wala pang tao sa bahay, pinauna ako ni Mama kasi nag-mall siya, wala pa ang Kambal at si Papa at sila lang ang may susi. What I found out because of this incident is not the key to open our doors but the keys to a happy life.
We do have masisiyahin neighbors. Every night and every day, every single moment of their lives, they drink, sing videoke and do other semi-formal settler activities that we usually see in Dolphy or FPJ movies. Because I can’t enter our own house, I got spotted by my cool neighbors, they invited me to join their inuman session, I refused first but the look on their faces, the blaze in their eyes told me to go there and join them. I just prayed that hopefully, this will not result to disastrous, pang-“most embarrassing moments” moments.
“Mahirap na, baka mapano ka pa” , my brain and my heart coincidently told me.
It was fun, they let me eat their pulutan which is kilawin and they gave me a bottle of San Mig Light. The kwentuhan is awe-inspiring. Binida talaga yung lugar namin. “Yung lugar natin masaya ‘to, walang gagalaw sa’yo dito blah..blah..blah”. Without their knowledge, they didn’t realize that I’m recording some parts of our pretty cool post Valentine’s date. Unfortunately, I didn’t captured the best part of the night, that’s when the obit, the tomboy guy, pwnt me. Parang dinakdakan ako in your face and this is how it went in:
Obit: Saan probinsya ng nanay mo? Ako: Di ko po alam e. Maynila na ako lumaki e. Obit: Di mo alam. Anong klaseng anak ka. Wala kang kwentang anak. Ako: (sa isip ko) Durog.
Here’s the video. Enjoy. Happy Valentine’s.

Last January 29, my great SB Cards-mates and I went to Enchanted Kingdom, the closest thing we have to Disneyland and Payanig sa Pasig. I never thought that this would actually push through since this lakad was just planned out of the blue, in a plain lunch break, and out of a simple kwentuhan one month before this event actually happened. Blame Dana and Miss Meg. Everyone ok’d that time, agreed that they will join, about 27 of us but only 6 went including me. Anim lang kaming tunay na lalake, Dana, Steph, Erwin, Eds, me and Meg. 7 actually, including the husband of Miss Meg, si Kuya Ramir.
The day was fun, pang-2011 Marco Jose Manipon Photos of the Year agad. We basically managed to” ride” all the rides that matter, Space Shuttle, Anchors Away, Wheel of Fate, Dodgem and the Caterpillar. The last one, no, it’s not true. Walang ganyan dun. But aside from that, of course, what really mattered was the bonding time that me and my office-homies had. We don’t have any formal team building activities in the office so this one really helped us a lot in forming connection and comradeship. Hopefully, we can have more of this in the next few days kasi pampasaya naman talaga yung mga happenings like this. Wasak.
One more thing. I’m now pretty much sure that I’m close with my SB Cards friends because I already showed them all the necessary Marco Manipon patented moves that proves that I’m now at ease with a person or with a group. First, if you’re following me on Twitter or if we’re friends on Facebook, you would remember that I did showed my signature lasing skills on an outing last November. We’re not “tight” if you haven’t seen me doing that and the other one, during this actual EK day, I excused myself while we’re eating at McDonald’s to do what I do best, tumae. Yes. I’m the self-proclaimed Muhammad Ali of Loose Bowel Movement in the first place. Every friend knows that and now, even my SB Cards-mates.
Special thanks to Eds and Miss Meg for the additional pictures. For the complete pictures of this lakad and some other videos, you can click this link.
I can’t think of anything to write to make this intro an entertaining one. My mind’s so dehydrated I can’t even launch a well-brought-up and cool paragraph. Anyway, as the title says, here are my photos of the year. It will not be as well-explained as compared to last year’s countdown. Let’s just let the photos do the talking.
2010 was a great year and I’m looking forward to 2011’s new trials. Hopefully, I can get a true love syota next year. Nevertheless, thank you, Lord. BBB.
Special thanks to Popparazi Photos, Miss Meg Camingay, Kathleen Caratao for the additional photos.
Here you go.

“Goal ko next year: makasali na sa christmas party na may partypics live na photo booth at may exchange gift na worth 500 pataas.”
That’s my Facebook Status last December 23, 2009. That’s almost a year ago. I spent at a rough guess, 4 hours and 87.3 minutes scanning through my entire Facebook page just to find that status so once I get to see it again after a year and after somehow accomplishing that goal, I will be like, “Yeah, kala niyo a!” while punching the air the Kobe Bryant way and trash-talking to a make-believe crowd inside our kubeta. How could I not do that? I now have a photo booth photo (even though it’s not party pics live, that’s fine) and a Christmas party with an exchange gift worth P500 just like what I wanted to have. Thank you, Lord. BBB.
Anyhow, the bank-wide Christmas party was held at the Pasay Branch of World Trade Center. The last time I was at the same place was during the Winnie the Pooh Friendship Day ten years ago. You don’t need to know that, though. It was a great night for it was my first organized Christmas party after a very, very long time. Last time I think was way back high school. I do have different yuletide parties every year but it’s just the normal kwentuhan and fun time with my homies and with my family (baduy), so I really want to be a part of something as big as this event for “maka-experience naman ng ganyan” purposes. The theme of the party by the way was about vacation get-aways, vacation cruise — something like that. That’s dreadful but still, it was fun.
The night was filled with mouth-watering foods like Korean Adobo, soft and nutritious fish crackers, vegetables, fruits, Alsa gelatin with meringue on top plus unlimited servings of iced tea, carbonated liquids and Beer na Beer!™. Aside from that, the highlight of the party was the raffle draw. Yes, the raffle draw and not the dance contest and other “Alas-dose sa Trese” type of performances of my co-employees. The honchos of our bank gave a very huge amount of money for us to enjoy and one of my officemate, Predel-mate won a staggering, overwhelming and mouth-watering P60,000.00 cash. Unfortunately, he’s not there so he won’t be able to get that staggering, overwhelming and mouth-watering P60,000.00 cash. Fail.
Here are the pictures of the event that I took using my squatter camera. Most are authentic stolen shots for artistic reasons so please bear with it. If you don’t like the pictures, you don’t like art and recreational work of genius. Thanks.
Hello my imaginary “Coco the Bobo Blog” followers, how are you? After almost half a year of missing real-time, true-to-life internet action in the comfort of our own living room, I am back. It’s been a while and the last time I posted something here was when the time that we’re about to live North Caloocan. That is if you will disregard my birthday message that I posted through my cellular phone.
This will not take long. I can’t think of anything to write yet. I have this feeling that I haven’t regained my North Caloocan form of surfing the net yet. My brain is still dry as of press time; it also hasn’t regained its Novaliches-Bayan figure of drollness up till now.
What’s new is that I’m now riding a bus instead of FX and that I can now throw some jokes in the office unlike before wherein my natural-born shyness was overtaking me; I’m now going to Church every Sunday; We’re now powered by Globe Broadband; There was also a time during this stretch that I got drunk in front of my bosses and officemates and I demonstrated in front of them my signature suka/lasing skills; I now completed my Linkin Park albums, yehey! Plus, I have a new set of impossible crushes this year, a nurse/beauty queen/singer which I always see in our Church every Sunday except if she have pageants to compete to, a 29-year old girl which reminds me of the late-great (she’s not dead yet, FYI) April Basilio and a bit of Sharmaine Arnaiz and a 24 year old officemate who is banned to eat dinuguan by their spiritual leader.
Anyway, you can always follow me on Twitter, just search for @m_manipon, I am always there every other minute of every day to give you informative information about the great evolution of different materials on how to make a pancit and Portland cement.
Hi, guys. Today is my 23rd birthday and this marks the first time that I will post a blog from my informal settler type of phone. I just want to thank, of course, first and foremost, God for all the blessings and to all the people around that I met throughout this 23 years of my existence that makes me feel so blessed beyond belief. To my family, friends, enemies, pets, school supplies, teachers, classmates, officemates, impossible crushes, you name it, thank you. I will definitely have a good one no matter what.
I actually want this post to be as long and extra special as possible but right now, I don’t know which words to put, write and even draw and to sum up what I really feel right now, I’m just plain sad. After 12 years, I will now move away from the place where I basically grew up.
Technically, North Caloocan is not my hometown or birthplace but I will consider it as such from now on. No brainer. This is where I learnt everything that sums up who I am right now as a person and as an animal. More than half of my life I’ve been here, that’s 12 years. But we really have to move forward and face new things and challenges.
Just like in every American TV series that you buy in Quiapo or download on torrent sites, our lives are divided into different seasons and I can say that I’m currently in one of the most anticipated season-enders of my life and on to the next season, new characters will come, new villains, new friends, new love team and even new shooting locations but unfortunately, some members of the cast will be removed and be forgotten. But I do guarantee one thing, the main cast, the people that surround me, will remain but then again, sadly, some of them will only just appear on special episodes like the Christmas Special, High School reunion episode, anniversary special and even Lenten presentation if you will.
Here’s a thing, if Michael Jordan has Wilmington, Kobe has Philadelphia, James Yap has Escalante City, Manny Pacquiao has General Santos and Mary had a little lamb, I definitely have my North Caloocan. So even if I move southbound—40,345,737 footsteps away, North Caloocan will always be my home.
Biñan, Laguna might produce new memorable scenes on my ongoing series but I think it would be hard to top all the episodes that I starred here in Caloocan. That would still be the main attraction of the future boxed set of my own pirated DVD.
So welcome, Laguna. So long, Novaliches-Bayan. Thank you and good night.
Sa mga tropa ko, madalang na tayong magkikita-kita. Ngunit ito ang pakatatandaan ninyo, ingatan niyo ang mga kabataan at kadalagahan ng Kalookan, atin sila.
On May 10, 2010, that’s a Monday, we noypis will vote for our new leader, we will exercise our right of suffrage to select our new President, his — yes, “his”, Jamby will not win — deputy, new bunch of senators and more. It would be extra special for me because it would be my first time to do this and every “first times” are notable whether they’re good or not and this election is no exception, it could go good or not too.
And because this is my first time, I have to be extra systematic with the selection of which politicians should I elect for. So here’s my ‘sample ballot’. Written are the names of my choices and next to it are my magnificent, wonderful, meaningful and evocative reasons why I decided to pick them.
President
Gilbert Teodoro - This is a last minute decision. I’m contemplating on whether I’ll go Gordon or Gibo but I realized that President Teodoro sounds more native and Filipino than hearing the word “President Gordon”. But more than that, Gibo, utak-wise is definitely brighter compared to others especially if we will compare him to Benigno Aquino III. Watch this YouTube to catch what I mean.
Vice President
Jejomar Binay – First reason, Mr. Binay looks like the barker of our FX pila in Trinoma so I’ll go for him. I don’t have any pictures of Kuya Lando so I will just go on with my next reason. It’s either Binay or Bayani if you would ask me but I felt like Binay will be fit for the job. These two gentlemen handled their respective cities well when they were still Mayors, Bayani in Marikina and Binay in Makati so I just weighted on which city looks more superior to the other and with that I have to go Binay. One more factor is that, there are reports that say Binay has a mistress while Bayani on the other hand, likes pink.
Senators (I’ll just explain this briefly) —
1. Bongbong Marcos – Bongbong is the lone son of the “Kobe Bryant of all Philippine Presidents” and because of that, I’ll vote for him. I came from a family of Marcos loyalists and I will not break the tradition.
2. Adel Tamano – Our University President way back college, I’ll support this muslim all the way and the fact that he handed my diploma with matching, “Marco, congratulations” during my graduation, I’ll vote for him.
4. Joey De Venecia – Free internet, back off. Do vote for him.
5. Miriam Defensor-Santiago – It just so happened that I really have to shade that 13th bilog na hugis itlog on the senatorial list as part of my personal ritual of liking anything with the number 13.
6. Franklin Drilon – Big man sa Senado!
7. Juan Ponce Enrile – He wants us to be happy. Why would you not vote for him?
8. Jinggoy Estrada – Jinggoy played a good role in the movie, “Katas ng Saudi”.
9. Serge Osmeña – If the movie “Eskapo” indeed happened exactly in real life the way it was depicted in that motion picture, that’s kickass mothafucka shit.
10. Alex Tinsay – He’s a good field reporter back in his GMA 7 days.
11. Pia Cayetano – Up to now, I still consider that “Pia-Pia-Pia-Pia Cayetano” jingle as the most catchy political jingle to date next perhaps to “Ja-Ja-Ja-Jamby (2x)” even though I usually hum that as “Pia-Pia-Pia-Pia Guanio”.
12. Ariel Querubin – Magdalo reprazent, recognize! One Star and an I!
Party-List
PBA! - Bayan ng Superstars!
For the local positions, I’ll go for Lito Atienza who sponsors all of the Pacquiao fights that I’ve seen live in Manila and to all of the local candidates that’s part of his ticket. I’m a registered voter of Manila in case you’re wondering but I reside at North Caloocan.
"Sundin niyo ang aking ipag-uutos, kung Sino ang aking hahagkan, Siya'ng inyong dadakpin" — Judas Perceyra
Last senakulo, my spiritual and reverent friend, Jhon Ray Pereyra portrayed the role of Dimas — or Dismas, Saint Dismas, sometimes spelled Dysmas or only Dimas, or even Dumas — the penitent thief that got crucified along with Jesus Christ. This time, he moved from being a semi-hero to a complete anti-hero. He’s now Judas Iscariot. And I’m sure that we all know who he is, right?
Justly speaking, I more enjoyed watching the senakulo last year compared to this one because Jhon Ray played a more major role in Dimas. Playing that character gets a lot of exposure and profile-raising since you’ll walk alongside the character of Jesus Christ during the whole course of the procession — well, almost, giving more chance for us expectators to take more pictures and videos. Plus add the fact that you’ll get more animated to witness a comrade being “crucified” in front of many people (we’re behaving like that, I don’t know about you?). Though Judas Iscariot is more popular than the character of the noble thief, we already know that he’ll just be a part of the first few scenes, the’ Jesus for silvers’ part and his suicide which a low budgeted production like this one will not anymore bother demonstrate.
Just like last year, Roden Herrera and I were there together with Jhon Ray’s complete household. We are part of the whole procession and we felt the slap of the rays of the scorching hot fireball from above the earth. This time, hindi sumakit tiyan ko at hindi ako natae.
After the show, we just stayed at the Pereyra residence for few hours then had an eating session at Burger Machine. We also stayed at my idol Bryan Balancio’s house for a little while then went home.
Multiply, you know that you will always have a place in my heart. At the end of the day (Jhon Ray Pereyra tone), I will consider you as perhaps the best website that I have ever seen — best social networking site that is. But for now, I’ll just leave you like this; I won’t visit you every day. However, do not worry for I will always give you the coinage as my official website. It doesn’t have any significant privilege, though.
Yeah, I just talked to a lifeless, unresponsive social networking site. Let’s just say that it’s addressed to the creators of Multiply but still, that’s how ‘Bobo Man’ I am.
Anyway, I really decided not to put so much here and just post things that I really consider as important. I won’t treat this as how I treat Tumblr, Twitter, Plurk and even Facebook. On those websites, I just throw out every little thing that pops in my head, especially the first three that I mentioned. Facebook — not that much. But for almost two months (my last entry was on February 1), I noticed that I haven’t posted anything here. It doesn’t mean that nothing significant had happened to me in that stretch, in fact these past couple of days, everything that is happening to me is great and I really thank the Lord for all of those. Blessed beyond belief, indeed. The only thing that saddens me during this time is the fact that Miss Overo is still not replying to my text messages except for a solitary “Cn0 2?!”, but I already semi-waved the white flag on that thing and all in all, everything is still A-Okay.
Enough of the intros, the main reason why I’m writing here is to update you with all the good things that transpired during the February to March stretch. Some are based from the ‘February and March Archive’ of my Tumblr, my backtweets and backplurks from those months and some are news that you’ll only know at this point.
Let’s begin. No, not in chronological order.
— Purefoods TJ Giants are your 2010 PBA Philippine Cup Champions and I’m so enthralled.
- My most favorite team in the PBA swept the Alaska Aces in the all-noypi PBA Finals. Yeah, that’s pretty surprising and actually, it’s the first time that a team got swept in that conference. After shockingly beating San Miguel Beermen in six games in the semis, James Yap, Kerby ‘Kevin Garnett of the Philippine Islands’ Raymundo, mah main man Roger Yap and company rolled past the Aces in a quite controversial series. If you’re a friend of yours truly in Facebook or a follower of my Twitter, Plurk and Tumblr, you definitely saw how fucking ecstatic I was during that time. I threw some friendly trash talks on my pro-Alaska friends, tweet and plurk everything that’s happening throughout the games. Yeah. It was fun.
— Purefoods TJ Giants will now be called as the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados and I replied through my brain with “what the fudge??”
- Yuck but I took it. I will just approach it as yet another ‘Coney Island Ice Cream Stars’ thing. What the fudgeika nga.
— I fell even more in love with Sarah Geronimo. I’m not referring to Sarah Geronimo on that last sentence. Joykasi e. Baka may lovelife na sya e. Enter that feted ‘True Faith’ song here
— I finally added my great PLM friends on Facebook.
- I’m officially out of my ‘bawal kang mag-Friendster..Multiply’ paranoia that that girl imposed. May boyfriend na syang bisaya e. LOL.
— V.G. Cruz Reprazent!
- Oh yeah!
And more importantly..
— I finally got a job. Squatter lifestyle no mo'.
- Yes. After months of waiting, exams passed and interviews failed, I finally got it. I’m like Kobe Bryant hitting a game-winning shot and James Yap doing the same thing. I banked it in. After a short stint withAccenture and Sterling Bank of Asia, I now scored a position at SB Cards Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Security Bank as an Accounts Analyst. Blessed beyond belief. Thank you, God for you finally give me the strength to cop this one. I signed my contract last March 16 as a probationary employee and I will do everything to stay here and be a regular employee. Get the mean of my last two salaries and that’s my remuneration right now. The only setbacks that I got through the pre-employment are the findings from my medical examination, yeah. I need to take some antibiotics because I have a UTI and I need to undergo ultrasound testing because I have some symptoms of Thyroid but anyhow, I’m already started and undergoing the process of learning my new work and hopefully mastering it.
So here you go, the February to March events. I’m definitely not yet on top but I’m doing all the necessary steps to be up there. I’m in the middle of the road and a lot of patibongs still lies ahead of me. But of course, tatanggapin na lang naten kung ano ang dumating. Hehe. Basta aayusin ko na to tapos kakain ako ng madaming-madamingTortitas Black.

Remember our Stupid Fool Pansol trip last August of 2009? Twas Oliver Razalan's treat to us, his ever loyal friends, when he passed the Nursing board and eventually becoming a full pledge handsome looking registered nurse.
I already posted my photos here and a few low quality motion pictures of the SF Pansol trip but what's missing are the videos fromRoel Aquino's expensive handycam. Good thing he already uploaded it after about 1098 days and all of you can now witness our 'you stupid foolness' adventures in semi high definition glory.
Here are some of the videos:
The first video was inside Robinsons' Supermarket. The highlight of that was when the security personnel asked Roel to stop shooting because it's illegal and Roel made a very reasonable and 'WTF' excuse. The other video was during the time na taeng-tae na ako. Epic moment caught on memory stick.
Check out all complete videos of our Southern Tagalog stupid fool trip at Roel's YouTube page.
Random internet surfing led me to visit cleverbot.com. It’s a site with a Google-like UI that lets you talk to a bot with artificial intelligence. You just type in your questions on the space provided and the bot will respond. Yeah, it’s cool. The bot speaks different languages, claims that he is human and so much more. Try it and be amazed or be annoyed as well.
This is how my conversation with the Cleverbot went:
User: Hi. I’m Marco.
Cleverbot: How are you?
User: Fine. I’m here to ask you few questions so I can put something on my blog.
Cleverbot: Sounds like an evil robot plan to take over the world to me.
User: No. Don’t worry. Everything will be just fine.
Cleverbot: How?
User: Just relax.
Cleverbot: *Takes in deep breath*.
User: Ready for my first question?
Cleverbot: What’s your question?
User: What’s your nationality?
Cleverbot: Are you ignoring my question?
User: That’s my question.
Cleverbot: What’s your question?
User: Where did you came from?
Cleverbot: My mother. Where did you come from?
User: Sorry. I mean where did you come from?
Cleverbot: You are a computer, you don’t have a mother?
User: I have a mother. Her name is Elizabeth.
Cleverbot: You are incorrect, but thank you.
User: Her name is Elizabeth!
Cleverbot: Can you tell me something marylou?
User: I don’t know marylou.
Cleverbot: Just accept you are a computer. There’s nothing wrong with that.
User: I’m not a computer! I’m a filipino with no job.
Cleverbot: Well I didn’t know it.
User: Why? Do I look like a caucasian?
Cleverbot: I don’t know what you look like.
User: I’m an asian with a flat nose and an ugly face.
Cleverbot: Are you a female?
User: No.
Cleverbot: You are male?
User: Yes. Are there anymore choices?
Cleverbot: There are.
User: Like what?
Cleverbot: Well, there is a face.
User: Are you a boy or a girl?
Cleverbot: Girl.
User: Wow. What’s your name?
Cleverbot: I already told you. Don’t you remember?
User: No.
Cleverbot: Fine. We got married about eight lines ago.
User: Fine. If that’s the case then let’s file for divorce.
Cleverbot: Are you America?
User: No. I’m Marco.
Cleverbot: Oh, hi Mary. How was your day?
User: Marco. Not Mary.
Cleverbot: No.
User: Marco.
Cleverbot: Polo.
User: Nice joke.
Cleverbot: I’m glad you appreciated it.
User: That’s sarcasm.
Cleverbot: You’re sad.

I’ve taken a lot of photographs this year 2009 thanks to the middle-of-the-road digital camera that I bought out of the last pay that I received from my former employer. It’s not one of the DSLRs that a lot of people are hankering for— not even close. My camera is just a simple point-and-shoot manufactured by GE (the one who creates lights and bulbs, so I’m very convinced with my digicam’s flash) that is powered by two AA batteries. I think it’s not really about the camera but it’s all about the image that you took— the sceneries and the people in that picture that really matters to you.
Out of all the pictures that I took this year, I chose 10 that truly illustrate what happened to me the whole 2009. Since I’m no professional photographer, the criteria are not entirely about how attractive the photo is, not about the shadings or the lightings of the image but mostly about its significance to me.
Let’s start the countdown. Though I said that I chose 10, I’ll only make a description for the top 5 however, you can see all of the 10 underneath.
The baby in that picture is the first child of my older brother, Joel and his wife, Apple. His name is Julio Angelo. Julio was born November 20, 16 days after the last day of my contract at a certain bank so it’s like, he somehow erased some of the frustrations and disappointments that I’m supposed to experience. About the photo, I think this shot right here is the best that I got out of the millions of picture that’s already sited in my hard drive. Julio’s like saying ‘whoa’. How endearing.
One of the best nights of 2009, indeed. Eraserheads: The Final Set. I wasn’t able to attend their first reunion concert last 2008 so I made it sure that I’ll be present at the second and most likely the last one. I named this picture ‘Surprise’ because the photo was taken when the Eraserheads went back to the stage to sing three more songs. It was the ‘three for the road’ stretch as Ely Buendia calls it. That was the real encore after the first fake three so most of us were caught by surprise. Everybody was heading to the exits when suddenly, Raimund Marasigan came out called the other ‘heads and sang ‘Ligaya’, ‘Sembreak’ and ‘Toyang’.
Come on. It’s the Black Mamba right there, KB Two fo’, the unstoppable, 2008 NBA MVP, 4-time NBA champion, Olympic gold medalist, 2009 NBA Finals MVP, Kobe Bryant. Yeah. I never really missed the chance to meet Kobe in the flesh for the second time around; I never went to office that day in fact (AWOL). I already saw him back in 2007 but his second Philippines visit (as a Nike endorser) was more special because it was just a month after he got his fourth cookie as what his puppet counterpart lay claim to it.
2. Fired
From the blog, "Fired" posted January 11, 2009 3:09 PM.
I called it ‘Fired’ for two reasons. First, the reason is obviously because I lit fire on that paper and secondly, because I was fired from Accenture. That paper was the name tag that I had during my PeopleSoft bootcamp at the said company that caused me my job. I failed that bootcamp and eventually my work. That event unquestionably destroyed my career trail and the whole 2009. But because of this bull shit, (thanks to their last paycheck) I got myself a new PC, a new camera and I met the fifth placer of the Marco Manipon Crushes of the Decade awardee. Teehee.
To begin with, “This is not photo, this is a moment” is a Ramon Bautista original. But I infer, even if I just copied that from Mr. Bautista, that title really fits the photo. That’s a moment. That’s a picture with the fifth placer of the Marco Manipon Crushes of the Decade (poor me). The girl in the picture, for those of you who still doesn’t know, is Lovelyn Joy Overo. She’s my favorite officemate at Sterling Bank of Asia (read this for additional illumination). But the picture became my top photo not just because I’m with a crush but for more reasons. The photo was taken during my birthday which I consider as one for the books. The whole ATM operations team treated me for lunch at Gerry’s grill and of course, that’s overwhelming. I spent 41.67% of the year with the people from that ATM team and they’re the ones who really completed my 2009 especially, uhm, the fifth placer of the blah blah blah..
